Our story
Balan Boot Company was created with the principles of the American West and family heritage in mind. Our great grandfather was a Basque sheep herder who immigrated from France with the values of hard work and the American Dream. Our boots are made to fit like a glove, carry you through long days and everyday moments while being dependable, personal and lasting. Over time, they will hold your story and become your Western Heirloom.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my boots are the right size?
When putting on your Balan Boots for the first time, you should feel slight resistance until your heel drops into place. Your boots should feel snug across the top of your foot. Not painful, just secure. As the leather breaks in, it will relax and mold to your foot. A small amount of heel slip (¼–½ inch) is normal when new and will lessen as the leather molds to your step. Your toes should move freely so go a half size up if your toes feel tight.
Is there a break-in period?
Yes, there is a break-in period because our boots are made of 100% leather and designed to mold to your foot. The break-in period makes your boot uniquely your own.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns up to 30 days after delivery date. Follow our sizing guide and if the size isn’t perfect, we’ll make it right. To ensure your boots qualify for an exchange or return, please try them indoors, on carpet or a soft rug only. If the soles become scuffed or are worn outdoors, they cannot be returned.
What makes you different from other brands?
Balan Boot Company is rooted in the traditions of the American West, shaped by generations who believed in hard work, faith and building something that lasts. Each boot is designed with that same purpose in mind, using high quality craftsmanship and premium materials, so they don’t just wear in, they wear well. As the leather molds to your foot, your boots become uniquely yours, carrying the miles you walk and the work you do. Over time, they become more than footwear. Your Balan Boots become a Western Heirloom that’s meant to be passed down with the story of where they’ve been.
